How long can Cherry Shrimp survive in a bag during transport? Gonna move some to a new tank and wanna make sure they don't stress too much. Heard mixed things about safe durations.

From my experience, they can handle up to 24 hours if the bag is properly oxygenated and kept at a stable temp. I've shipped them overnight with no issues, just avoid extreme temps and direct sunlight.

Yeah, I've done 12 hours before with no losses. Just make sure the water params are good, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, and pack 'em tight with some plants for cover. They're tougher than they look.

Had a sketchy situation last month where the delivery got delayed. They were in the bag for like 30 hours and still made it. Not ideal, but they're resilient little dudes.

Agreed. Adding a small piece of sponge filter can help with oxygenation too. I've used that trick for longer trips.

What's the best way to acclimate them after transport? I've heard drip acclimation is best, but some folks just float the bag.

Drip acclimation is the way to go, especially if they've been in the bag a while. Takes more time, but it's worth it to avoid shock. I lost a few once by rushing it.

For real, don't skip the drip. Even if they seem fine, the pH and TDS can be way off. I use airline tubing with a knot to slow the flow. Takes like an hour, but they'll thank you.

Yep, same here. I've had way better survival rates since switching to drip. Also, keep the lights off for the first few hours to let them chill.

Anyone tried using those breather bags for shrimp? Heard they're supposed to be better for longer trips, but I'm not sure if it's worth the extra cost.
