hey guys, got a couple of pics of my mate's cichlids - can anyone id these for me?

got another one too, would be great if you could id this one as well

anyone got an ID for these fish?

Top one looks like it's from the Aulonocara family, probably a female. Second pic has a bit of a Melanochromis paflakelelus vibe, but I'm not entirely convinced - could be a hybrid, not sure.

Parflakelelus typically has way more vibrant lines, yours looks a bit more subdued, leaning more towards a hybrid to me.

Still think it looks like paflakelelus, your fish has got those breaks in the lines on its body but could just be a poorly bred one.

Fair enough, i think the breaks in the bars are a bit too frequent for a poorly bred paflakelelus. Then again, it's common for poorly bred melanochromis to have irregular markings.

Yeah i know what you're getting at, some paflakelelus do have varying line thickness, but usually no breaks in them, so it's possible it's a hybrid or just a poorly bred one.

Better pics would help, but from what I can see, the top one looks like an Aulonocara hybrid to me. It's possible it's a specific species that hasn't fully colored up yet. A clearer pic would make it easier to tell.

You see some pretty unusual mbuna hybrids around nowadays, don't you.
