I'm considering the following fish for my 100ltr nano cube:

1. 1+ embera hawkfish
2. 2+ percula clownfish - love these guys
3. 1+ mandarin - but I'll wait a year for its natural food source to establish first
4. 2+ yellow headed jawfish
5. 1+ anenome crab
6. 2+ firefish (not firtideflow - I think that's a typo)

Can someone please advise if these fish are suitable for my 100ltr tank? If not, I'm happy to reduce the number.

Also, are these fish compatible with each other?

What kind of filtration system are you planning to use for your nano cube? I think you've got a bit too many fish on your list, just my opinion. Also, be careful with that hawkfish - they've been known to snack on inverts, so keep an eye out for that. Otherwise, the fish you've chosen seem compatible with each other.

I'd advise against the mandarin. I've had experience with a scooter blenny, which shares similar issues with mandarins, in my 120l reef tank. Despite the tank being well-established and feeding it frozen food, the blenny didn't thrive, lost weight rapidly, and eventually had to be rehomed to a larger tank.

Culturing pods for mandarins is a full-time commitment. If you're considering this, I'd suggest culturing pods and feeding them to your tank for at least three months before introducing the mandarin. This will give you a realistic idea of the workload involved. If you can maintain this routine without expecting immediate results, you might be able to keep up with the demands of a mandarin.

Regarding hawkfish, as coral8 mentioned, they're known to prey on ornamental inverts, mainly shrimp. However, I know some people who've successfully kept them without issues.

As for firtideflow, I'm uncertain about keeping two. I've always read that unless you have a large tank or a mated pair, it's best to keep only one, but others have argued against this.

I'm not familiar with jawfish, but the perc and crab should be fine. However, having eight fish in a 100l tank is a bit ambitious. It's doable, but you'll need a top-notch skimmer, regular water changes, and sufficient liverock and water circulation for basic filtration.

I've changed my mind, new list is:

1. 1 firtideflow
2. 2 percula clownfish
3. 1 embera hawkfish
4. 1 jawfish
5. 1 mandarin

I've got a marine filter pump (circulator) and a protein skimmer, so I think I'm good on the filtration side. I'll ignore my previous post, cheers guys.
