My fish is not eating.

Hi,
I've got an islando damsel fish and I'm feeding him marine granules twice a day. He seems to really love algae, so I was thinking of getting some for him. Would that be a good idea or would it not provide the right nutrients?
I'd really appreciate some help with this.
Kind regards,
joe

Hi Joe, sticking to a nutrient-balanced and vitamin-enriched pellet or flake food as the staple is probably the best way to go, with the algae pellets as an occasional treat. The algae pellets usually contain spirulina, which is often already included in the balanced foods anyway.

Hello,
I've been thinking, would it be okay to feed him algae on one of those clips? You know, the little sheets of algae you can buy? It's just that he's really not eating the food I give him, even though it's top-notch, the best pellets I could get. I'm getting a bit worried, so I was wondering if I could try the algae?

If it's keen on nori, let it have some. What's the pellet food you're using, just curious?

Hi,
I'm feeding my islando damsel fish sera marine granules. It's supposed to be a high-quality staple food for all marine fish, with a blend of fish, krill, and mussel meal.
I'm not really sure what nori is, could you tell me?

Nori is a type of dried seaweed - typically fed to herbivores, like tangs.
If your sera marine granules don't contain garlic, you might want to try something like Ocean Nutrient-rich food. Fish seem to really enjoy the taste of that stuff.
