I've been keeping my betta's food in the fridge, but I'm not sure if that's the best way. Does anyone know if freezing it affects the nutrients? I've got pellets and freeze-dried bloodworms.

Freezing can actually preserve the nutrients better than refrigeration, especially for freeze-dried foods. Just make sure to keep it in an airtight container to avoid moisture getting in. I've been doing this for years with no issues.

Agreed with tundrabit. Freezing is fine, but avoid frequent temperature changes. I store mine in small portions so I don't have to thaw and refreeze the whole batch. Also, keep the pellets in their original container inside a ziplock bag for extra protection.

Y'all are overcomplicating it. Just keep it in a cool, dark place. Fridge or freezer is overkill unless you're storing for like a year. My dude's food sits in a drawer and he's thriving. No weird vibe here.

Actually, heat and light degrade the nutrients faster. If your room temp is consistently below 75°F, a drawer is fine. Otherwise, fridge is safer.

I keep mine in the fridge cuz my room gets super hot in summer. My betta's food lasts way longer that way. Just sayin', it's not sketchy if it works.

Does anyone use silica gel packets in their food containers? I heard they help with moisture, but I'm not sure if it's safe for the fish.

Silica gel is non-toxic, but make sure it's not directly touching the food. I use them in my storage bin, not inside the food container itself. Works great for keeping humidity out.

Glad you found a solution! Just remember to let the food thaw to room temp before feeding. Cold food can shock their system a bit.
