A change to scape

Previous scape wasn't ideal for my Malawi Cichlids so a change was in order.

Before:

After:

The fish appear to be enjoying the new setup, they've been digging loads of holes around the rocks in the sand, and personally I think it looks a lot better, but I'll let you lot decide.

Looks like a great improvement, but I think you could easily triple the amount of rock in there for a Malawi setup.

Looks a big improvement now, but yeah, definitely needs more rock work for my Malawi Cichlids.

Love the makeover, definitely an improvement. Agree with the others, could do with a few more rocks though.

I've got a few more rocks stashed away, but I'm thinking of getting some more. They don't come cheap though - £50 for what I've got so far is a pretty penny.

what rock have you used

To be honest, I'm not really sure - maybe someone on here can take a look and tell me?

£50 seems steep to me. I picked up a bootload of granite from a local fencing and paving supplier, they had rockery stone and I got a great deal - £45 for a load that's still got some left over. You can see how much I got, my tank's 4.5 foot long for scale:

... still had 2 or 3 rocks left that didn't make the cut.

I got them from two different fish shops, probably why they cost more. £2.50 per KG from one place, £3.95 from the other.

After the change the fish seem to be hiding now, all of them. When i walk up to the tank they all scarper. I'm wondering if this is normal behaviour due to the rescape? Will they calm down as time goes on?
