Is fin damage a sign of fin rot?

I'm trying to figure out if there's a clear way to distinguish between fin rot and fin damage - any advice would be great. I recall someone mentioning Primafix in a previous thread, but I'm not sure if it's effective for both issues. Also, just to put my mind at ease, could someone please confirm that Primafix is safe for use in a reef tank?

To answer your question, Primafix is indeed reef-safe, so you don't have to worry about that. It can help speed up the healing process for both fin rot and fin damage, but it's not a cure-all for the bacteria that causes fin rot.
