894L tank, currently stocked with:

- 2 x clown fish
- convict blenny
- reffles butterfly
- flame angel
- potters angel
- multicolour angel
- juvenile sailfin tang
- 2 x chromis
- blackcap grammer

Looking to add some rare marine fish to this fish-only tank, any suggestions would be great.

Cheers, Scott

If you're looking for something really rare, you might want to consider a cross hatch trigger or a fluxeon moray - they're definitely unique. The golden dwarf moray eel is another option, but be prepared for the cost, it's not cheap.

Check out this threadfin acanthurus - http/www.liveaquaria.com/diversden/ItemD...&ddid=63982. Also, this yellowhead damselfish - http/www.liveaquaria.com/diversden/ItemD...&ddid=63202, and this radiant wrasse - http/www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_Di...&pCatId=304.

If I had your tank, I'd go for some unique wrasses. Ones that aren't commonly found in other tanks.

Those morays, like the ones rusticfox mentioned, might eat your fish. A snowflake eel would be a safer choice, but it depends on your risk tolerance.

I'm leaning towards the candy basslet, think I'll give it a shot. Thanks Kj.

Not a fan of keeping eels, don't wanna be wondering where my fish went.

found something else, but it's just too pricey for a small fish like that

Considering finding a pair of genicanthus angels, they can be tough to find as a pair, which I think makes them pretty rare. Plus, genicanthus are totally reef safe.

How about a psychedelic mandarin - wicked cool, right. Not an angelfish, I know, but this little guy's got some serious style.

Check out these links:

This fish is bright, colorful, and pretty psychedelic - love it.

How about finding a couple of Gurnards or Flying Gurnards? They're reef safe, but just a heads up, they'll probably snack on small shrimps and the like. They can get a decent size and honestly, they're just hilarious to watch, wee beasties!
