about the seahorse

Hi, just wondering if anyone's had any experience with SeaHorses. I've always been fascinated by them and would love to get a few, but I'm not sure... would really appreciate some feedback.

I've already got a pair of Gold Stripe Maroon ClownFish, a couple of Blue Damsels, and some Green Chromis in my 50 Gal tank.

Honestly, I think you might struggle to get food to the seahorse with those aggressive eaters in the tank. The maroon clowns, in particular, seem like they'd be a challenge.

I concur, it's likely the seahorses might get some food, but it'll still be a challenge.

I still think the seahorse would struggle to get food, the competition's just too much. My tang's always hogging the food, and even my yellow clown goby's a bit of a pest, which is why it's on its way out soon.

Thanks for the honesty guys, I think I'll have to put my seahorse dreams on hold for now.

I'd love some advice - what else can I get that's colorful or similar to tangs? I really like those.

Has anyone tried breeding clownfish? I've heard it's possible, but how hard is it?

looks like someone's got a bit of a capslock issue going on.

you've got a pretty lively bunch in that tank already, and a 50g isn't exactly massive. larger wrasses or pseudochromis might be a good fit, or if you're not keeping coflakes, maybe a dwarf angel could work out.

I'm not too sure about dwarf lion or snowflake moray. I'd think either could work, but you gotta consider the size and the fact you've already got some bold fish in there. Maybe the snowflake moray's a safer bet, but it's still gonna be a challenge.

Sorry about the Capslock, got a bit carried away. 50g isn't huge, I know, but it's been working for me so far. I do have coflakes in there, so I guess that rules out the dwarf angel. But I did check them out, and they do look pretty cool. Thanks for the suggestion, buddy.

Snowflakes aren't a threat to your fish or clams, they actually get along pretty well with seahorses, but they do have a taste for shrimp and true crabs.
