are you a betta breeder?

I've finally given in to the urge to get another betta. The tank's already been purchased, but it's going to sit idle until I sort out the issue with my current betta's tank. I'm waiting on a new filter to arrive, which should hopefully resolve the slime problem we're experiencing.
I've ordered a 5.5 gallon tank kit, and I plan on replacing the filter that comes with it. Once the tank is cycled and looking good, I'll start searching for its new occupant. This is still weeks away, but I thought I'd do some browsing in the meantime. I've seen some nice fish at my local fish store, but they're kept in those tiny cups - it seems like every time I buy one, another takes its place in the cup. I'm considering buying from a breeder instead, but some of the nicer bettas I've seen are priced between $50 and $90. That's a bit steep for me, especially when I could get two more 5 gallon tank kits for that price. Does anyone know of a reputable breeder who might not have the most extravagant bettas, but offers healthy stock at a more reasonable price?
