What are the best plants for a 5-gallon nano tank? I've got a sponge filter, low to medium light, and no CO2. Looking for something easy to care for but still visually appealing.

I've had good luck with Anubias Nana in my nano tank. It's slow-growing but super hardy. Just glue it to a rock or driftwood, and it'll do its thing without much fuss.

Java Moss is another solid pick. It's basically indestructible and gives a nice, wild look. Plus, shrimp love it if you're into that kinda thing.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've heard mixed things about Java Moss being messy. Does it really get out of control, or is it manageable with regular trimming?

It can get a bit wild if you let it go, but a quick trim every couple weeks keeps it in check. Just gotta stay on top of it.

Dwarf Hairgrass is another option if you want a carpeting plant. It's a bit more demanding with light, but it looks killer when it fills in.

Yeah, Dwarf Hairgrass is dope, but it's gonna need more light than you've got unless you upgrade. Stick with the low-light stuff for now.

True, true. Maybe Marimo Balls then? Zero maintenance and they add a cool vibe.

Marimo Balls sound interesting. Do they need any special care, or can I just toss 'em in and forget about it?

Nah, they're chill. Just give 'em a rinse every now and then to keep 'em clean. Easiest plant ever.
