Hi,

I'm considering adding a small Scooter Blenny to my Lynxo Aquarium setup. Given I already have 2 clowns and 2 cleaner shrimp, I'm unsure if this would be overloading the system. If it's viable, I'd appreciate any insights from members who keep this species, particularly regarding their husbandry and feeding habits, as they belong to the Dragonet family. I'm keen to hear about your personal experiences.

I think you'll be alright adding a few more fish, I've got a big tank, 490 litres, and I've also got a nano with 7 small fish and 9 corals, seems to be working out fine for me.

I've read mixed reviews, so I'd advise against it. If you could find one that's willing to eat prepared foods, you might have a shot. No need to tell you to do your research, I know you will.

Good luck with it, but personally, I wouldn't even think about keeping one in anything smaller than a 55-gallon tank, even with a prepared food eater. I've heard of people keeping them in nanos for over a year, but they all seem to be the ones that eat prepared foods.

The thing is, as you mentioned, they're Dragonets, and that means they can be a pain when it comes to food. Scooters might be a bit more open to frozen foods than mandarins, but they're still super finicky. If you can find one at the store that's already eating frozen, you can try to replicate that at home, fingers crossed.
