Top one definitely looks like a female, but the bottom one I'm not too sure about - can't really see its top fins. If you could get a side-on picture, that would be great - would help to see all the fins.

Honestly, it's either a subdominant female or possibly a young male, I just can't say for certain, sorry.

I'm leaning towards the other one being a male, about 80% sure. The long top fin and body shape seem to point towards male, but the tail fin does have a more female appearance. I'd say it's likely a young male, so I wouldn't expect them to be looking after eggs anytime soon.

Not expecting eggs yet, just thought I had a pair then spent ages searching. Thanks btw, appreciate the help.

Managed to see 4 pics on flickr - 1 male phalloceros caudomaculatus & 3 pics of Kribensis. The 1st Kribensis on a green leaf, 2nd one on a green leaf ( possibly same pic) & 3rd one on a purple leaf all appear to be male.

Looks like you've got a female and a young male on your hands.

Check the dorsal fin on the top one - if the colour runs all the way to the end, that's a pretty good sign it's a male. I think I see that in the pics, but double-check to be sure. He's just missing the spade-tail for now, which will develop as he matures.
