Coral Dip Recommendations

Looking for recommendations on coral dips for new frags. I've got a mixed reef with LPS and SPS, and I've heard mixed things about iodine vs. peroxide dips. What's your go-to for preventing pests without stressing the corals too much?

I've been using Revive for years, and it's been solid for me. It's gentle enough for most corals but still knocks out flatworms and nudis. Just make sure to follow the dosing instructions, and don't leave them in too long, especially for sensitive SPS like Acropora.

I agree with Revive being a good choice. I also add a quick rinse in tank water after dipping to help reduce any residual stress.

Anyone tried Bayer Advanced? Heard it's killer for pests but sketchy if you don't dilute it right. I'm too scared to mess with it, but curious if anyone's had success.

Bayer can work, but you gotta be precise. I use it at 5ml per gallon for 10 minutes, then triple rinse in tank water. It's brutal on AEFW and red bugs, but yeah, one wrong move and you're toast. Not for beginners.

I stick to CoralRx. It's less harsh than Bayer and still effective for most pests. Plus, it's easier to dose, and I've never lost a frag to it. Just my two cents.

For soft corals like Zoanthids, I've had good luck with a quick peroxide dip. 3% solution for 30 seconds, then rinse. Kills algae and pests without nuking the coral. Not for SPS though, they'll melt.

Thanks for the input, everyone. Gonna try Revive first and see how it goes. Appreciate the tips!

Let us know how it works out. If you spot any pests afterward, a second dip might be needed, but usually one does the trick.

That sounds intense. Maybe I'll stick to CoralRx for now, lol.
