Are betta fish safe to feed boiled eggs?

I was thinking of giving my betta, Hank, a special treat today - a tiny bit of boiled egg. However, someone raised a concern that it might not be the best idea. I tried searching online, but all I found were results about betta fry, so I'm hoping our experienced betta keepers here can offer some advice.
Is it safe to give Hank a small amount of boiled egg, maybe once a month?

Honestly, I'm stumped on this one, Rizen. I don't have a clue about boiled eggs for bettas, I've never tried it myself, but I'm curious to know the answer now.

Boiled egg yolks are often used as a nutritious food source for fry, so it's likely safe for your betta in moderation.

Haven't come across that before, interesting idea.

Let's get a pro's opinion on this before we proceed. @coltin, @boomer, I gotta say, giving advice that could potentially harm a fish if you're not 100% sure, that's just not cool.

I've got to question it, to be honest. With all the top-notch foods available for bettas, I'm not sure what benefits boiled egg would bring. I do know that egg yolks are used in infusoria cultures for fry, but I'm concerned about the potential issues with eggs breaking down in the tank.

I was thinking of just a tiny bit, roughly the size of a couple pellets, since Hank's got a small mouth. Maybe I'll just spot feed him and make sure it doesn't get into the water. His tank is due for a change today anyway, so I can just change it afterwards.
The yolk does have fat and cholesterol, but I haven't really found much info on the whites yet.

It's likely fine for your betta, but it'll mess up your water quality in no time. That, in turn, can harm your fish. Live bloodworms could be a better treat option, don't you think?

That's actually a better idea. He gets frozen every Friday, but a live treat could be a nice change of pace. Maybe some live worms or bugs to hunt would be good enrichment for him.

I'm not convinced about egg yolks, even some breeders think they're not ideal for fry. I'd stick with the tried and tested foods.
