Sold to me as a tanganyikan shell dweller, but I'm not entirely sure.
Got 2 pics, he changes color when the lights come on. He's about 2 inches.

You've got a Lamprologus Ocellatus there, great choice. They've always stood out to me for their unique personality, really charming fish.

I've been doing some research on the Lamprologus Ocellatus since I got mine, and I must say, I'm quite intrigued by their personalities. As I mentioned earlier, I think they have the most character of any shell dweller. Very nice fish, indeed. I've noticed that my Lamprologus Ocellatus doesn't really show much interest in the shells I've provided - I've tried three different ones, but no luck. Still, he seems to be doing well and eats just fine.

Looks like a Lamprologus stappersi to me. Give it some time to settle in, might make a difference. What kind of shells have you tried so far?

I got a little snail shell with the fish, it's small, he can only get halfway in. Hasn't looked at it since I brought him home. I also got two other shells, one's a fake I think, it's got a big opening. The other one's real, been in my family for ages, over 100 years old probably. It's an ocean snail shell, large but with a narrow opening. Had the fish and shells for a couple of months now.
