Predictable retraction in frogspawn corals

I've had my frogspawn for three weeks now, and it seems to be thriving. However, I've noticed a strange pattern - every night at 7:00 pm, it starts to retract, and by 8:00 pm, it's fully retracted. This happens with such consistency that it's almost like clockwork. My lighting schedule is pretty standard, with the lights coming on at 11:00 am and going off at 10:00 pm, so I'm curious to know what's triggering this behavior.

Are you adding anything to the tank around that time? The daily routine in your house might be influencing it - like lights, cooking, or increased CO2 levels from everyone being home in the evenings. My frogspawn tends to retract when the lights are turned off.

Is the frogspawn just retracting, or is it releasing anything in sync with this daily pattern?

nothing unusual happening around the tank, Vikingo9, just the regular daily routine. it just seems to be retracting, no signs of it releasing anything like axonify mentioned.

I've had a similar experience with my frogspawn, it retracts around the same time every day, 7-8 pm. I've noticed it seems to be releasing waste during this time. I wouldn't worry about it though, my colony has thrived, growing from 2 heads to 8 over the past year.

Mine did the same thing, around 7-8pm for a bit, now it's happy and stays open till the lights dim.
