Who Gives A Fish Forums

I've had this goby for a week now and it still hasn't eaten a thing. It looks healthy, no signs of sickness, but it's super docile. I've tried all sorts of food - live, garlic-soaked frozen spirulina, brine shrimp, you name it.

I'm at a loss, thinking maybe it just won't eat. Recently found out they can be super picky about water params and just stop eating altogether. Problem is, I just realized this after buying the goby. My tank's only been cycled for like 2-3 weeks and it's a tiny 2.5g pico tank, so I'm worried.

Guess I just gotta wait it out and hope the cycle spikes don't kill it. Any ideas or help would be awesome!

Considering the goby's lack of appetite, I'd like to suggest a possible internal parasite issue - these fish can sometimes come in with unwanted guests and need a little help cleaning up. I've had success with anti-parasitic foods on Meicanthus species before, so it might be worth a shot here. Adding vitamins to the water, like Vita Chem, could also help stimulate appetite, although it might induce some algae. The vitamins are absorbed through the fish's skin and possibly even consumed, so it's definitely worth trying. Fingers crossed it helps.
