Creative ideas for a 5-gallon space

I've got a convict in my 5 gallon temporarily, no need for alarm, but once it's out I'm considering my next move. I was thinking of going back to my original stocking - guppies. They were the first fish I had in this tank when I started out 2 years ago, but things have changed a lot since then.

You could add a few male guppies to the 5 gallon, just no females. Breeding fish in such a small tank causes water quality issues, making it hard to keep them healthy.

Considering my previous thoughts on restocking the 5-gallon, I've come up with some ideas. Building on TankWarrior's suggestion, a few male guppies could work well. I'd also consider adding a single female or Plakat Betta fish, as they're generally less aggressive. For a schooling fish, I think 7 chili rasboras would be a great addition. Alternatively, I could turn this into a shrimp tank, and then I'd have the option to add shrimp to any of these stocking ideas. Either way, it's essential to ensure the water parameters remain suitable for the chosen inhabitants.
