Hey guys, so I just got this torch coral about a week ago and it was doing great at first. I added a new power head for a week, but I just removed it 'cause the flow was too strong. The main head was getting blasted by the flow and I think that's what killed it. The other head seems fine though. Things started going downhill a couple days after I fed my corals some phyto and zooplankton. My water params have been solid, so I'm hoping the other head makes it. This torch is one of the tallest things in my tank, but it's still a foot deep. I've got 2 48" LEDs with white and actinic blue lights over the whole 125 gallon tank, and a separate light over the torch. The tentacles on the dying head have been falling off and shrinking over the past couple days - they go from brownish tan to almost black before disappearing. Any ideas from experienced LPS keepers would be awesome, Happy reefing

I run mine on the bottom, medium flow, medium light. Maybe try moving it down, see if that helps.

Torch corals aren't exactly light-hungry, but excessive flow can definitely be a problem. I'd also recommend moving it to a lower position.

Torch corals are usually my canary in the coal mine, if you know what I mean - they're the first to go when something's off in my tank. Once a head starts to decline, it can be tough to recover that particular head. I've had some success with dipping them in iodine, though - Kent Lugols has worked well for me in the past.
