Who Gives A Fish Forums

I've hit my limit in the 240G low tech, and I'm struggling with thinning out the plants. It's not like they'll recover in a couple of weeks - it can take months for them to refill. My Rainbows and loaches are in need of more open space, though. The thing is, it looks way better when it's overgrown - but I have to think about the fish.

When deciding how much to prune, do you go by looks or something else? I'm curious to know what your routine is for pruning your low tech plant tank.
