I'm still getting used to this forum thing, so bear with me if I mess anything up.
 
I've got a Juwel Vision 260 with the internal filter, and I'm slowly adding plants. However, I'm having trouble finding the right spot for the filter outlet - either my delicate plants get blown around or the surface agitation gets too extreme.
 
The pump that came with the tank is a 1500lph, not the standard 1000lph, which I think might be part of the issue. But I really don't want to spend money on a new pump if I can help it.
 
Has anyone with a Juwel Vision 260 internal filter figured out a good spot for the outlet? Mine's currently pointing towards the back, which keeps the main tank calm but makes the surface movement a bit too intense for my fish. I see all these serene planted tanks online with gentle surface movement and swaying plants, and I'm starting to think that's just not possible with my pump.

I've had a similar issue with my Juwel tank. Initially, I had the outlet nozzle pointing upwards, but when I started using it as a fry tank, the current proved too strong. So, I made a slight adjustment, tilting the nozzle towards the back wall.

While this worked for me, I think your problem might be the pump itself. If it's too powerful for your tank, you may need to replace it with the standard 1000lph pump. Another option could be to remove the internal filter and consider an external one – it might be a more cost-effective solution, so it's worth looking into prices.

I've got my outlet nozzle pointing in a similar direction, slightly towards the back wall. A spray bar could be a good solution to dissipate the flow from the pump. In my tank, I've got a lot of floating plants covering about half of it, which probably helps to break up the flow, especially in the area furthest from the outlet.

Pointing upwards is a definite no-go for me, I get a massive fountain of water shooting about 6 inches out the top - it's quite a sight, but not exactly what I'm going for.

I've had to get creative with the water level, it's so high that the centflake support bar is actually in the water, which seems to act as a bit of a breaker, calming the water down on one side of the tank at least.

I'm curious, would swapping out the oversized pump for the standard one have a significant impact on the filter's effectiveness? At the moment, the tank is lightly stocked, so it's not a major concern, but I'd like to know for future reference.

The oversized pump has been a bit of a nightmare in other ways too - I've lost count of how many small fish have gotten sucked into the filter and struggled to swim back out.

I think the oversized pump is definitely the main issue here. It sounds like it's causing more problems than just surface agitation. I'd strongly consider changing it to the correct one. Have you checked the Juwel website? They have a 'contact us' section, and from what I've heard, their customer service is top-notch. You might want to reach out to them and see if they can suggest a solution - they might be able to recommend something that'll work better for your tank.
