Is this elegance coral a good purchase?

I recently came across a pink tipped elegance at my LFS, imported from Bali, and it caught my eye. I've heard mixed reviews about Indonesian elegance corals, but this one seems healthy - it's been at the store for nearly two weeks, fully opened, and I don't notice any tissue damage or recession. Would a coral in decline typically show signs by now, or is this one worth considering, especially at a fair price?

Two weeks isn't a long time in the grand scheme, as elegance corals can decline gradually. I've found that they often deteriorate over a period of 2-6 months, which is why I'd personally be cautious. My experience with these corals is that they're a bit like clams - they can appear fine one moment, and then suddenly they're not.

If you're still considering it, I'd suggest trying to get the elegance to close up so you can inspect it more thoroughly for any signs of tissue recession. Although the Indonesian elegance aren't as hardy as the Australian ones, it's not impossible for them to thrive.
