color changes in koi betta fish

I picked up my Koi Betta about a month and a half ago. It was mostly white back then, with the usual red, blue, pink koi pattern on top. But in this short time, the coloring has really shifted - the colored bits have spread out quite a bit. Now the whole back end of the fish is blue, and the pelvic fin's almost entirely red. Still looks nice, just thought it was weird how much it changed so fast.

Anyone else have a similar thing happen with their Koi Betta?

I've had a similar experience with a Koi betta I rescued from a chain store. At first, Tony - I named him after Tony Stark due to his yellow body color with red spots - looked completely different from the beautiful fish he is today. After just a couple of days of proper care, the yellow gave way to a stunning pearlescent white body color, and those red spots were joined by some gorgeous blue ones. The transformation was amazing, and I was thrilled to see him thrive in his new environment.

Check out the pics in this thread. Meet Cheriko - isn't she just precious? Little chubby girl is an import too.

Koi and marbled bettas are wild, they change up their look so much every few months, it's really pretty cool.
