I'm still trying to get a clear picture on the python water exchange system - did it deliver or fall short? Can someone give me the lowdown, thumbs up or thumbs down?

I'm giving it a thumbs up, seems like a solid system to me.

I'm with willie32 on this one, thumbs up from me too. I think it's effective, but I'd like to know more about how it handles different water types and flow rates.

I'm happyone, but I gotta give a thumbs down. I tried the python water exchange system and it just didn't cut it for me. I mean, it's not the worst thing I've ever seen, but it's definitely not the best. wandg asked for a summary, so here it is - it's just okay, not great.

It's decent, not perfect, but decent - half a thumb up.

I'm with "stump" on this one. I'm a python fan, will likely get another when my current DIY setup gives out. Hose quality is top-notch, but I don't bother with the tap attachment.

I've had my python for 11 years, still going strong. Only issue I ever had was the shutoff breaking, but a brass replacement fixed that easily. My only real complaint is the water waste when siphoning with tap water pressure. Luckily, I only use it on my 29 gallon, so it's not too bad.

Half a thumb up. The siphon's good, and the hose - I've got a 50' one - is really good quality and flexible when needed. Don't use the water filler component myself, gotta pay for water and my septic system doesn't take kindly to extra water. Instead, I fill my tanks from the tap using a garden hose connected to a utility sink, and a garden sprayer. Drain the largest tank first with the siphon, then start filling while I move on to the next one.
