Who Gives A Fish Forums

I'm posting this here in the marine section, hoping it's the right place.

I visited the Boston Aquarium over a year ago and came across the lumpfish species. I'm still unsure where they naturally live, but from what I've read, I think they're a cold-water species native to the North Atlantic waters. Am I correct?

I'm also trying to find a way to get one for my aquarium, but local stores don't carry them. The only places I can find them are wholesale, and I have no idea how to order just a single lumpfish. Does anyone know how to go about ordering one? I'm at a loss here, and I definitely don't want to resort to "borrowing" one from the Boston Aquarium.

I'm fairly confident that lumpfish are typically found in temperate Atlantic and Pacific waters, which wouldn't make them the best fit for a tropical tank. They can grow to a decent size, if I recall correctly, so you'd likely need a substantial tank to accommodate them.

As for obtaining one, I'm almost certain they're not commercially available, but I believe the larvae - which are bright green - can be found in shallow waters.
