Who Gives A Fish Forums

My brother just set up a 75 gallon tank, and his water pH is 8.3. He hasn't gotten the GH yet, but from what I know, it's pretty hard. I'm pretty sure Africans need a GH of 10-20, right?

I'm looking for some advice on peacocks and other African cichlids that can be tankmates. Any other useful tips you guys can share would be great. What are some good combos for a 75 gallon?

I've had a rough time with African Cichlids, to be honest. I let them overpopulate my 55 gallon and it was a disaster - had to rehome my other fish due to their aggression. They were beautiful fish, I'll give them that.
