would an angler fish be ok in any of my tanks, or would it eat my current stock?

how big do they get, and whats their diet like?

please break it down for me, thanks

also forgot to ask, do you know where i could get one from, as the one in my lfs is 70 quid which i think is a bit steep

I did a quick Google search for Angler Fish and I gotta say, it looks pretty intimidating. Is that the right creature we're talking about? If so, I'm seriously tempted to get one, they seem awesome.

I've read they mainly go for small fish and shrimp, seems they're alright with reef setups though, liveaquaria says so anyway.

my smallest fish are about 1-1.5 inch, and then i also have a 2-3 inch cleaner shrimp

not sure to be honest Lionest mate, i suppose anything the same size or smaller than the angler could be seen as a potential meal down the line, so your smallest fish might be at risk. I've only ever seen them in LFS's with other unusual fish, like a box fish for example. They're definitely an eye-catching species, but i don't personally know anyone who's had one in their tank, which makes me wonder if there's more to it than just the price tag.

any other thoughts on this, would be great to hear more opinions

Which angler fish exactly are you referring to, I'd love to know.

Frogfish, thats all I know, they're a type of anglerfish, right? or is there another species I could keep in my tank, would like to know if any are suitable.
