Fish stressing torch corals

I've been having some weird issues with torch heads deteriorating rapidly and I'm stumped about the cause. A buddy of mine joked it's like a fish is doing it because of how quickly they're dying off. I've had a pretty diverse mix of fish, so I thought I'd run my list by you guys to see if anything stands out.

I've got a few fflintix9her and fairy wrasses, a Hoven wrasse, a pair of blue throat triggers, a Vlamingi Tang, a Nasi Tang, a Magnificent Foxface, a Hawaiian Black Trigger, and a Bluespot jawfish.

I've kept most of these species in a mixed reef before without any problems, but I'm wondering if any of these fish might be the culprit. Are any of these not typically considered "reef safe"?

My personal experience with Magnificents is they're notorious nippers - they'll mow down anything in their path. I've got one that's recently started nipping on a welso and it's getting the boot this weekend. The last one I had took out a large frogspawn, so I'm done with them. No more Foxfaces for me.

Thanks for sharing your experience, I actually heard that about Magnificent Foxfaces from someone else today too, seems like they might be the culprit behind my torch head issues.

Thanks for sharing your experience, floralix - I hadn't considered the Foxface as a possible culprit. My Magnificent Foxface has been a model citizen so far, never causing any issues with my corals or other fish.

I'm out of the Foxface game now too, had to remove mine due to the same nipping issue.

If they're hungry enough, they'll go after the coral for that zooxanthellae.

He's been spared by a faulty trap about 5 times already, I'll follow up once he's gone and the issue either persists or resolves.
