Growing and caring for cabomba

I've come across conflicting info about pruning Cabomba - some folks say the bottom half is a lost cause, while others claim it'll keep on growing. My plant's doing alright, growing pretty quickly, and I'm thinking of giving it a trim this weekend.

I'm pretty sure that's how it's meant to go - it develops a couple of new shoots from where you cut it.

It should produce new shoots, that's if the roots are healthy and strong.
