I just got my Dwarf Saggitaria from online shopA, and the description said it'd arrive in 12-24 hours, but it took 2 whole days. Now that it's here, I'm a bit worried - the leaves are kinda yellowish and some are broken or even turning black.

So, I'm wondering, does Saggitaria grow new leaves and replace the broken or bad ones, and can it thrive in my conditions? I've already planted some in my nano tank, which is also my shrimp tank, and I haven't dosed any CO2 since it's not set up for that. Should I just get rid of it or give it a chance?

Remove the brown or black leaves, they're dead anyway. If the Sagittaria can survive, it should grow new leaves.

No CO2 is needed for most aquarium plants, but a good fertiliser and decent light will really help them thrive.

I'm thinking to get a fertilizer, do you have any recommendation for a complete aquarium plant fertilizer?
I've been using just a base high nutrient soil for all my tanks, so a bit clueless about fertilizers.

I'm looking for a reliable brand on eBay, something that's trustworthy, you know, since we're stuck at home during these lockdown days.

I've tried Sera Florena myself, it's a liquid fertiliser for aquarium plants. There are other options out there, but this one works for me.

Hi I want to ask again, can the saggitaria survive with just a few leaves left? I chopped off most of the dead leaves and cut the rot a bit before planting it. Now I'm left with 2-3 leaves, will it still be okay? I've started using Tropical Specialised Fertilizer, no CO2 injection for now since I couldn't find a CO2 tank. I do have CO2 tablets, but I only use those on my nano tank, not my 50 gallon, it's just not worth it.

I cut the rot to around 1-2 cm. The original length was 7-10 cm. Is that okay?

Just plant it and observe its growth. The longer you keep the plant out of the substrate, the lower its survival chances become.

I'll give it my best shot to revive the saggitaria.
