Noticed some tiny critters on my frogbit - could be greenfly aphids, right? Had this issue before, anyone else dealt with it and found a solution?

My mom's had issues with aphids on her milkweed plants, and I've seen her deal with them. She swears by soapy water to get rid of them, but I'm guessing you wouldn't want to risk putting soap near your aquarium. Cold water's a safer alternative, though. You could try removing the frogbit from the tank and gently spraying off the aphids with cold water. I've never personally dealt with greenfly aphids, but I have experience with regular aphids, and this method's worked for those.

I'd try submerging them in water and letting your barbs or tetras have a go - they'll appreciate the free live snack.

Cheers for the advice. So, I've got them on the cory/tetra tank.

I'm just starting out with growing frogbit in my tetra tank, so I'm a bit envious of your nice crop. I've only got a few small plants right now, but I'm hoping they'll take off soon. Yeah, @belleora's idea of using them as fresh fish food is a good one - those little guys would love a snack like that.

Tetras not interested in the surface yet, could do with some danios to lend a hand.
