I've got a clown with something weird on his face, been there for a few days now. initially thought it was just food stuck, but it's still there. looks like a bit of skin or some flaky white/clear stuff. anyone got any idea what it could be?

Sounds kinda like cotton mouth, read the last disease on the fishforever disease page. That one might match what your clown's got goin on.

I'm pretty sure that's cotton mouth. I'd treat it and keep an eye on it - it's definitely not normal. Poor little guy, that does look weird. I'm having some concerns about my damsel too, I've seen a small white dot on its lower lip and I'm wondering if it might be cotton mouth as well.

ive been running melafix for a few days now, still seems to be doing the trick, was wondering if anyone knows of anything else i can use alongside it to help clear this up?
clownie's still got a decent appetite, i keep an eye on him during feeding to make sure he's eating alright... seems like the treatment's having a bit of an effect, some of the white stuff's gone now and i can see a bit of his orange colour coming back through. gonna keep dosing till saturday, then i'll add my carbon back in, do a water change and assess the situation before deciding what to do next.

the growths almost gone now, pretty pleased with that, gonna keep dosing for the full 7 days just to be on the safe side tho!
