Who Gives A Fish Forums

I recently fell into the YouTube vortex in search of reliable discus information. It wasn't until I stumbled upon a video featuring Alex Piwowarski that I found something worthwhile. He made a point that really resonated with me - 90% of what you see online is incorrect. This got me thinking about our experiences with discus three decades ago, and I'm disappointed to say that not much seems to have changed.

That's why forums are the way to go - you get actual discussion and facts, rather than relying on social media platforms like Facebook.

Honestly, the medium may have changed, but the impact remains the same. I'm sure I'm not the only one here who was captivated by discus after seeing a stunning image of turquoise discus in an Amano forest scape, complete with a lush carpet.

I recall having a 135-gallon tank years ago, planted with sword plants and a few Wattley discus - it was a real showstopper. I made the rookie mistake of checking the pH, and when I saw it was around 5, I panicked. In my inexperience, I ripped out the gravel and plants, despite the discus and plants thriving. That was a costly lesson - I learned to focus on the fish, not the numbers.
