Your tank looks great, I especially love the health of your discus. I'm a big fan of checking out other people's tanks, there's some really creative ways to display these fish beyond just BB. I made a video of my own tank, it's a lightly planted 110g tall, check it out.

I'm with you on enjoying other people's discus tanks. For me, though, bare bottom is the way to go - it's just so much easier to maintain. I'm 73 now, and I've found that keeping things simple is the key. I've tried sand a couple of times over the years, but it always ends up getting removed - just too much hassle for me.

Your discus look great, I can tell they've had a lot of TLC. Frequent water changes really make a difference, don't they?

Your discus look great. I'm curious about the setup in your sump. That blue-gray basket under the intake sponge/floss - is that for bio media or something else? I'm not too familiar with sumps, so I'm asking out of ignorance.

Also, when you clean the tank, how do you handle the pots and plants? Do you move them around or do they stay relatively clean underneath since there's no substrate? I'm thinking of trying out potted plants and I'm wondering if I'll need to lift them up when I vacuum or not.

The baskets under the intake sponge have Seachem matrix bio-media in the top one and Ultimate bio-home in the bottom. When vacuuming, I just move the pots aside to clear out any detritus - it's really easy to keep the tank bottom clean this way.
