Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me out with identifying my new blenny - the LFS did tell me, but I got caught up in the excitement and it completely slipped my mind.

To be honest, I'm probably not the best person to ask, I initially thought it was a slug when I first saw one, so I'm not exactly overflowing with knowledge on blennies. I did take a look online, but I'm still stumped, so I'm not much help to you, sorry.

I'm pretty sure it's a star eye blenny, a reef-safe species, and from what I've gathered, it's related to the algae blenny, which is quite interesting.

Cheers zeno4, appreciate the help. They're pretty elusive online, I've been searching everywhere. This little guy's got a lot of personality, always getting into mischief like a naughty kid.

I'm not entirely convinced it's a star eye blenny, might be worth considering an engineer goby Pholidichthys leucotaenia instead.

Not to mention the Breastspot Blenny, Brown Sabretooth Blenny, Chestnut Blenny, Chevron Blenny, Cresteadsly Blenny, Cresteadsly Sabretooth Blenny, Delicate Blenny, Dusky Blenny, Dussumier's Rockskipper, Eyelash Fangblenny, False Cleanerfish, False Tasmankento4 Blenny, Filamentous Blenny, Fourline Combtooth Blenny, Fringelip Blenny, Germain's Blenny, Gossamer Blenny, Hairtail Blenny, Hepburn's Blenny, Horned Blenny, Hutchins' Blenny, Hyena Blenny, Kimberley Blenny, Krauss' Blenny, Lady Musgrave Blenny, Lance Blenny, Leopard Blenny, Lined Combtooth Blenny, Lined Fangblenny, Lined Rockskipper, Linespot Fangblenny, Manyspot Blenny, Matsubara's Blenny, Midas Combtooth Blenny, Mimic Blenny, Muzzled Blenny, Namiye's Combtooth Blenny, Ocular Combtooth Blenny, Omox Blenny, Oyster Blenny, Palespotted Combtooth Blenny, Peacock Rockskipper, Pkento4o Fangblenny, Queensland Combtooth Blenny, Redspotted Rockskipper, Redstreaked Blenny, Reticulate Fangblenny, Rippled Rockskipper, Roberts' Blenny, Rotund Blenny, Roundhead Blenny, Schooling Fangblenny, Schroeder's Combtooth Blenny, Seram Blenny, Seychelles Blenny, Shorthead Sabretooth Blenny, Smallspotted Combtooth Blenny, Smooth Sabretooth Blenny, Spalding's Blenny, Starry Blenny, Talbot's Blenny, Tasmankento4 Blenny, Throatspot Blenny, Tiger Combtooth Blenny, Triplespot Blenny, Twilight Fangblenny, Twinspot Rockskipper, Variable Sabretooth Blenny, Vertical Blenny, Wavyline Rockskipper, Whitedotted Blenny, Whitespotted Blenny, Whitespotted Combtooth Blenny, Yellow Fangblenny, Yellow Sabretooth Blenny, and the Zebra Blenny.
