I swear, Mattell's found the most adorable way to snooze - he jams himself behind the heater cord, lol.
The tank's at a comfy 80F, so it's not like he's trying to warm up or anything. It's literally just his go-to spot to catch some Z's.

Some betta fish seem to prefer resting near the surface, possibly to utilize their labyrinth organ for air. Mine, in particular, often chooses to settle on top of a clear wine glass.

I used to have an under gravel filter in my tank and my Betta loved sitting on the air bubble tubes. You think maybe he's trying to tell you something, like fill that wine stemware up so he can take a little swim?
