Just got back from the lfs with my new goldrim tang. Got him on the drip right now. I'll post some pics once I release him into the tank. I'm a huge fan of tangs and when I saw this one, I was hooked. Did my research and went back the next day to grab him. I'll keep you guys updated on how he does. My tank's a 175g reef, upgrading to 300g soon.

45 mins to go and I'm getting impatient. He still looks healthy, swimming around in the bag. Every now and then, he nips at the bag - it's pretty funny.

Added my peppermint shrimps the other day and it was hilarious watching my clown chase them away from his anemone. But he seems cool with my regal tang being near it - they've been tankmates for a while.

15 mins left and he's still swimming, nibbling on the bag. He's a real beauty. Pics will be up once he's in the tank.

Total drip time was 1hr 23mins. He's in the tank now, swimming around, and not hiding. Even my clown seems to like him - not chasing him away from his anemone. Planning to try feeding him in 2hrs, will keep you guys posted.

Just a question - are you referring to a white cheek tang or a powder brown tang? I've come across information that suggests the name Goldrim Tang is used for both species. What I've read about white cheek tangs is that they're similar to achilles tangs in terms of behavior, survivability, and natural habitat. On the other hand, powder brown tangs seem more suitable for aquarium life. It's a shame, really, since I think white cheek tangs are quite visually appealing. Anyway, looking forward to those pictures.
