I've got a 180lt tank with 14 cichlids - Jalo and Saulos.
 
Running an ex1200 and thinking of adding another one.
 
Current water readings are PH 8, ammonia 0.25ppm, nitrate's through the roof at 180ppm or higher, and nitrite 0ppm.
 
Just done a 3/4 water change to bring the nitrate down, but wondering if a second filter would be beneficial in keeping it under control.

Was the filter cycled, I'm just wondering because adding another filter won't help with that, it's still gonna take some time. The extra filter will help with the ammonia and nitrite levels once it's cycled though.

Added a second filter, cant hurt, might help with those nitrates after the water change.
