choosing cats for a malawi tank

looking for some bottom feeders/clean up crew for my malawi tank, but bristlenoses and syndontis are out - dont really like the look of them. anything else thats pretty common that would do the trick ?

Bristlenose might not be the best fit for your Malawi tank due to the differing water chemistry. Considering your tank is home to Malawi cichlids, I'd recommend the Cookoo Catfish or Featherfin Catfish. Both are African catfish that should thrive in your setup. They do grow a bit larger, reaching lengths of 6 and 7 inches, respectively.

55g's a decent size, but for the cats I mentioned, it's a bit of a stretch. They can work, but just barely.
