I'll have a better understanding of these creatures soon, but for now, they're giving me major Sid vibes from Ice Age when they're stuck on the glass... their eye-rolling abilities are pretty impressive, I'm convinced they could watch their own food intake.

The plecos and regular Otos, like my Zebra Oto, have eyes in what seems a normal spot, but these Giants have theirs positioned way further apart, almost under the curve on the side of their heads... probably helps them see the surface they're feeding on, better than any potential predators above them... interesting, I think it gives them a pretty good advantage.

Actually, I think the giants have eyes positioned much further apart, almost under the radius on the side of their heads, rather than higher up like regular plecos.

Here's a close-up of my Zebra Oto - normal eye placement, still. Not as high up as the pleco's, but definitely not as low as those giants.

I'm guessing that every time they glance at you, they're probably thinking "that creature out there has a weird eye setup".
