Hi Sam, for fish like red tail sharks that spend most of their time foraging on the bottom of the tank, sinking pellets are the way to go.

They can eat floating pellets, but it's a bit tricky for them. As others mentioned, they tend to forage on the bottom. Sinking pellets are generally a better option.

It'll cause them to struggle with eating, that's about it.

They also need some algae and driftwood, it helps with their digestion.

What's the difference between red tailed black shark and albino red tail shark, aside from the obvious color difference?
