I'm assuming they're plants or something, lentoa got them from Viscum Water Gardens in Barnburgh, what did you buy?

They're lovely, aren't they? I'm actually a bit clueless when it comes to African cichlids.
Out of curiosity, lentoa, what local fish stores do you usually visit around Doncaster? I'm roughly equidistant from Hull, Doncaster, and York, and while I've checked out the ones near Hull, I haven't had a chance to explore the Doncaster options yet.

Red Peacock Cichlids - the more colourful one is the male.

Red Peacock Cichlids The More Colourful One Is The Male
I was going to take a guess but didn't want to look silly if I was wrong, I don't know much about cichlids to be honest. But they look great, nice choice, really like the colours on the male one!

I've been using Viscum Water Gardens, they've got three shops, I've only been to two of them though. The one at Barnburgh is the best for cichlids, loads of choice. Finningley's closer to me but they don't have as much stock. I've also bought from Hemswell Fish Farm at Hatfield, it's just down the road from me. Carl at Midland Malawi's got a good selection too, prices are low and they do postage.

I'm not entirely convinced those are a pair, to be honest. Female peacocks, even the line-bred ones, usually have that silvery or creamy brown colouring and are pretty bland, in my opinion. That one looks more like a Rubin Red to me. It's possible you've got one fully coloured male and a younger male that's still developing its colours.

They're absolute stunners, whatever the exact classification. Colours like these are the reason I went for Malawis in the first place. Get that other thread updated with a full tank shot, I'm itching to see it. What's the current stocking looking like now?

Will get my tank shot updated soon, still got a lot of juveniles in there. Have you got your 5ft tank yet, mate?

Cheers for the info, I'll have to check out Viscum Water Gardens, particularly the one at Barnburgh, and see what they've got, might also give Hemswell Fish Farm a visit, heard good things about Carl at Midland Malawi too, so will look into that as well, thanks for the tips.
