I'm pretty sure they're seed shrimp. They're harmless, but can multiply quickly if you're overfeeding. I found this image that looks similar to what you're describing. Check it out: https://media.sciencephoto.com/image/z2300118/800wm

That's weird, I don't overfeed my Bettas, just 5 Betta Bits a day, that's it. I'm stumped on how I got them. My hospital tanks are completely empty, no fish at all. Only live plants I have are those Moss Balls, which they seemed to love.

They might've hitched a ride with the moss balls. Not worth stressing over, though. Your infestation doesn't seem too severe, so I think you're in the clear. Maybe just do a super thorough gravel vac job and you should be good to go. They won't bother your fish or plants.

My black mollies would probably love them as a snack, I think they'd have a blast chasing them down.
