Good plan. Anubias is practically bulletproof. Just don't bury the rhizome, or it'll rot. Tie it down or glue it to something.

Yeah, and Vallisneria's gonna spread like wildfire once it's happy. You'll be trimmin' it every other week, haha.

True story. Mine's taken over half the tank. Fish love it though, gives 'em lots of hiding spots.

If you're feelin' adventurous, try some Ludwigia repens. It'll grow in sand, but you'll need decent light and maybe some liquid ferts to get those red tones.

Seconding Ludwigia. It's a bit more work but totally worth it for the color. Just don't skimp on the ferts.
