Hope your fish feels better soon! Keep us posted. Sometimes it's just a fluke thing—one of mine ripped a fin on the heater guard once. Healed up fine with extra water changes.

Or maybe your Discus is just clumsy. Mine swims into the glass like it's got a death wish. But yeah, check the obvious stuff first—sharp decor, strong flow, water quality. If all else fails, blame the fish.

Could be a nutrient deficiency too. Low protein or vitamins weaken fins. Try adding some high-quality pellets or live blackworms. And yeah, pre-filter sponges are a must with strong filters.

My money's on the driftwood. Soak it longer next time, sand it down, and maybe boil it to soften edges. Also, how's the pH? Big swings can stress them, make fins brittle.

I'm new to Discus, but my betta had torn fins from a sharp rock. Sanded it smooth, and he healed up. Maybe inspect the driftwood with a flashlight for hidden jagged bits?
