I've just done my weekly water test and the results are in - ammonia's at 0-0.25, it's slightly green but leaning more towards yellow, nitrite's 0 and nitrate's 5-10. I've got to say, my tap water's nitrates are 10 so I'm not sure what I can do about that unless there's something I can add to the water to sort it out.

I appreciate the suggestions, I'll have to wait a bit for payday to get some floating plants, thanks for your help

If you pick up a single Water Sprite plant, it's a great option as it grows really quickly and can be used in the gravel or left to float. Alternatively, a small handful of duckweed would also work well, and before you know it, you'll have a bunch of floating plants that'll help use up those nitrates.

I came across Tetra Easy Balance online, apparently it reduces nitrates. Would this be something worth trying, or should I stick with the floating plants I'm planning to get?
