My Jager's been chilling at the bottom of a 40g for ages. No drama. But hey, if you're worried, just angle it sideways. Works the same and looks less intimidating.

Surge protectors are underrated. Lost a canister filter to a storm once. Never again.

Sand's fine, hookit. Just don't bury the heater in it. Leave some space for water flow. Angler_09, you got a powerhead in that 55g? Helps even out the heat.
