My cichlid is showing signs of distress
Re: My cichlid is showing signs of distress
It can only help, you know, doing another water change, even if it's just 50%, it's better than nothing, and maybe it'll give your fish a bit of a break.
Re: My cichlid is showing signs of distress
I'd still try to move those cichlids even if you get the water right, 46l is just not enough space for them, it's more suited for a fry tank, around 10 gallons.
Re: My cichlid is showing signs of distress
Using rainwater in a city or industrial area might be your issue, as it could be polluted. Rainwater typically has a pH between 5-6, which is way off from what your cichlids need. Also, it's likely lacking essential minerals.
Re: My cichlid is showing signs of distress
just done another ph test on the tap water, it's coming out at 9.5-10.0, i did a 70% water change and waited a bit, then tested the tank water and it's at 7.5-8.0 now. my red jewel is still looking rough, not sure if it's dying or not but it doesn't look healthy at all. my demasoni, yellow lab and bristle nose are all fine, behaving as usual. hoping the red jewel will be better by morning, it's my favorite fish.
