Help with tanganyika
Re: Help with tanganyika
Is there some really colourful multifasciatus out there??
Re: Help with tanganyika
If you're looking for colourful multies, there's only one that really stands out, but similis are worth considering too - they're quite similar and pretty nice to watch. The thing with Tanganikan fish is, their personalities more than make up for their lack of colour.
Check out this list of shellies on shelldwellers.com - it's a great resource: http/www.shelldwellers.com/index.php?board=3.0

Re: Help with tanganyika
I quite like the look of some of the similis. I was thinking along the lines of what you said about not many fry surviving, maybe just having one species and a pair and letting them have their fry and all that. But with three species, I'd be happy if some of the fry from each batch made it, till I've got a full colony of each.
Do you know the full name for the similis, cheers...

Re: Help with tanganyika
So if you chose certain shell dwellers, even with just a pair, they'd still probably eat the young. But if you went with similis and other tankmates, a few of the fry would keep surviving and your colony would build up over time.
Re: Help with tanganyika
Sounds good that that's the case for the other groups too. For stocking, I was thinking of getting 10 of each, 5 males and 5 females, then removing the ones that get driven to the top till I get a pair in each group, letting them build their colonies. Or would it be better to get 1 male and 5 females, letting the males choose the females they want?
Do you know the prices for each fish, thanks.
